The operations coordinator will join an emerging, successful Chicago arts institution at a critical point during a period of rapid growth. This is the orchestra’s first dedicated volunteer staff position and is instrumental to the continued success of the organization. The operations coordinator is the “go to” person for all activities that keep the organization functioning day-to-day; the primary responsibilities include:
● Act as primary liaison between the board of directors, performers, personnel coordinators, volunteers, venues, composers, and other arts institutions and artists
● Oversee and organize all donor, audience, and performer data in the CCO’s database of contacts and email list
● Manage the organization’s digital files, including recordings, digital scores, marketing materials, meeting notes and minutes, signed contracts, and organizational documentation
● Coordinate rehearsals and concerts by working with personnel, volunteers, and venues to make sure all day-of operations run smoothly and efficiently
● Work with the CCO marketing committee to help maintain the the CCO website and promote

CCO concerts
● Work directly with the CCO board of directors to implement other initiatives such as: fundraising appeals and events, marketing campaigns, and long-term organizational planning

Compensation & Hours:
● Volunteer, with the possibility to become a paid position in the near future
● 8-10 hours per week, remote and flexible

● Interest in arts administration and orchestral operations management
● Extremely organized and detail-oriented
● Able to juggle multiple responsibilities at once
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
● Degree or experience in arts administration strongly preferred
