Our first concert in CCO’s 9th season will take place as part of the 3rd annual Thirsty Ears Festival presented by Access Contemporary Music. This performance will include works written for chamber orchestra that evoke the spiritual and ethereal. Julia Adolphe’s Shiver & Bloom, a lingering, yet swirling soundscape depicting the dichotomy of mind and body. …like treasure hidden in a field by Kati Agócs soars with color while maintaining a mysterious aura. Chicago composer Luke Gullickson’s kaze no denwa (meaning “telephone wind”) is a reflection on relatives speaking to lost loved ones.
